How to Use the New Catalog

Here are some instructions for how to use the new library catalog.

To look for something that's located in one of the Pike County Library Buildings:

1. Select the library branch from the dropdown menu.
2. Type the Author, Title, or Subject into the search box.
3. Click "Search" or press "Enter" on the keyboard.
4. From the list of search results, click on the title you want. If you want to narrow the search results, you can click on one of the authors, titles, subjects, or formats on the right side of the screen.
5. After clicking on the title you want, click "Check Availability."
6. Scroll down to the bottom to see if your library's copy is checked in or checked out and where it's located in the building.
7. If it's checked out, and you would like to place a request on it, scroll back up and click "Request Any Copy."
8. Enter your library card number and PIN (last 4 digits of library card number).
9. Select the location where you'd like to pick up the item when it arrives.
10. Click the red "X" to close the pop-up window and perform another search.
11. Remember that the library can contact you by phone, email, or text message when the item arrives, depending on your preference. Speak with someone at the circulation desk in order to set your preference. Text message notification is only recommended for those with unlimited texting plans, as the library will not be responsible for any additional charges as a result of text notification.
